Remi Delatour is one of the main characters on Devious Maids. Genevieve's son, and Valentina's obsession, he moves home when his mother tries to overdose... again. Remi is smart, handsome, rich, but can struggle when it comes to drugs. However, this doesn't stand in the way of him and Valentina being together, nothing does, not even Valentina's mother.
Born to Genevieve and Philippe Delatour, Remi grew up in a rich household, never having to worry much or take care of himself. His parents divorced when he was young, and he was under the primary care of his mother. He ended up with four other stepfathers, all of which broke his mother's heart, leading her to become more careless, and to not raise Remi the way she should have. ("Pilot", "Walking the Dog") At the age of six, Genevieve attempted to teach Remi how to ride a bike, but when he kept falling, she became so frustrated that she broke down into tears. Remi assured Genevieve not to worry about it, and for her to go inside; he'd learn how to ride by himself. ("Taking a Message")
Since he was a child, Zoila Diaz had worked as a maid for Remi's family, and so she would often bring her daughter Valentina to work with her. Over the years, Valentina began to develop romantic feelings for Remi, though she never acted on them, nor let anyone know. ("Pilot") In high school, Remi dated a girl named Allison, and also became addicted to cocaine. He was eventually sent to rehab for said addiction, and when gone, Zoila lied about it to Valentina, for she was still young. ("Taking Out the Trash", "Taking a Message") Remi was eventually accepted into UST, and at some point began dating Flora Hernandez, who was secretly seeing numerous other men. She soon became pregnant with his child, though this information was kept from him, and she was eventually murdered. ("Pilot", "Hanging the Drapes")
Remi is convinced to move back home for his mother. ("Pilot")
As his mother attempts suicide once more, swallowing a bottle of pills, Remi is called home by the two maids to come to her aid. The younger maid, Valentina, comes up with the idea for Remi to move back home; Genevieve agrees, believing that she could never be depressed with him around. Remi reluctantly agrees to, and so Valentina is now given the chance to finally win him over. When her mother, Zoila, is out at the store, she changes into a white floral-patterned dress and "accidentally" prepares two cups of tea. Upon bringing them out, she is invited by Remi to have the other cup with him, and so the two get to talking some. Zoila, meanwhile, sees Valentina getting along rather well with Remi, to her dismay. She then goes out and buys two yellow uniforms which she informs Valentina they will now be wearing to work; she wants to remind the Delatours that they are there to clean, not be friend. Valentina is against this, but then gets an idea; during the night she takes her uniform and makes modifications to it, making it into something sexy she can wear when serving Remi. She prepares French toast for him, something he admitted to liking during their last conversation, and she walks away as he is taken by her beauty. ("Pilot")
Valentina is briefly integrated into Remi's circle. ("Setting the Table")
Valentina continues to crush hard on Remi and Zoila disapproves when she sees her daughter sitting at the table with her employer, bonding over a shared love of old movies. She tries setting some boundaries, but Valentina has no interest in obeying. Knowing that Remi and his friends are going to the movie theatre that night, she dresses up and seeks them out, revealing that she designs her own clothes and getting a stamp of approval from them, with Remi himself even stating that he likes her. Zoila learns of this the next day when Remi asks Valentina to quote the movie they saw, and once again she is furious. She wonders if Remi's friends know that she scrubs his toilet for a living, proceeding to go to Genevieve and point out how bored Remi must be outside of the frat house. Genevieve subsequently decides to host a party for Remi and his friends, wanting her son to have fun, and Zoila points out that she doesn't have to worry about a caterer because she and Valentina can take care of everything. When Remi's friends see that Valentina is a maid, she is humiliated, and later Genevieve finds her crying. Knowing this kind of cry all too well, she surmises that Valentina is in love and, when she learns that Remi is the one she is in love with, she is thrilled. She decides that she will help the young couple to get together, but promises not to let Zoila find out. ("Setting the Table")
Remi and Valentina agree to not pursue their relationship further. ("Wiping Away the Past")
Zoila is ushered out of the house by Genevieve, who wants her to go pick up a jar of face cream, which means that Valentina is able to head over to Remi's college dorm and help him move the rest of his stuff. She sees that he's throwing away a shirt simply because it has a rip in it, and quickly she takes out her sewing kit and fixes it, which he finds admirable. The two of them seem to be bonding and, later, Remi asks Zoila if Valentina has a really nice sewing machine, for he'd like to get her a present for helping him. Zoila is shocked that Valentina did this and comes to realize that Genevieve helped set it up, sending her into a fury about how the two of them are now going behind her back. Genevieve champions the idea of young love, but Zoila remains steadfast in the belief that rich boys don't end up with maids. Finally, she decides that she and Valentina won't be coming into work for a few days. Remi hears the fight and wonders what it's about, and Genevieve explains how, years ago, Zoila fell in love with her brother, Henri. She now has to go over and apologize, but she ends up at the wrong house and a loud dog startles her into falling into some bushes. Her wrist is sprained, but she is fine; however, at the hospital, Remi tells Valentina that the two of them should cool their relationship since it's causing so much tension between their mothers. ("Wiping Away the Past")
Allison tempts Remi down a dark path... ("Taking Out the Trash")
Valentina goes to wake Remi, only to discover a girl named Allison in his bed, with whom he spent the night. Naturally, she is very jealous, and Remi asks her to make the girl some tea. He mentions that she is off sugar, so Valentina puts extra sugar-cubes in her cup, then running it up to her and getting asked to search for the girl's earring under the bed. While searching, Valentina overhears Allison talking to her friend on the phone, saying how Remi is total marriage material. She is appalled, and even more so when, later, Remi says that he has to go work on his thesis at school, meaning Valentina has to look after Allison. Allison overhears Remi telling his maid that she has to be nice to her, and so she tries her best with getting away with ordering Valentina around. This doesn't blow over well though, and the two women soon get into a fight, and later Remi scolds Valentina because Allison said she tried to kill her. An argument ensues, leading him to ask why it's any of her business who he sleeps with, and she says that that's a stupid thing to ask because he knows how she feels about him. He concedes that he knows that she likes him, but she makes clear that she loves him, to his shock. He wonders how she can love a person she's never even kissed, and she agrees, then planting a giant kiss on his lips and asking if he's clear on how she feels about him now. He is, and then he returns to Allison, refusing to fire Valentina or take her to a club. Saddened by this, Allison decides that Remi owes her, and so she entices him into doing cocaine with her like he used to. ("Taking Out the Trash")
Remi finds his own way for dealing with poverty. ("Walking the Dog")
Zoila returns along with Genevieve from Armani, only to learn from Valentina that the gardeners are refusing to work because their checks bounced. Genevieve finds this terribly strange, wanting to get into contact with her business manager Myron Moyer to see what's happened, but it seems he's skipped the country and taken all of her money with him, meaning she no longer has a cent to her name - she believes this to be the end of the world. Besides Genevieve though, this also effects Remi, who has been going about handling things his own way. He's recently become addicted to cocaine again, and when Valentina finds him after having inhaled some, she finds him to be doing very "well", despite everything in his family's life falling apart. Valentina is glad to hear this, though she is a bit awkward around him with the way he's acting. Remi then makes her dance with him, clearly not in his right mind on the drug. Meanwhile, Genevieve decides to find a seventh husband as a way of regaining some money. ("Walking the Dog")
Because of Valentina, Remi is sent back to rehab. ("Taking a Message")
Valentina is cleaning when Remi returns from an all-night party, having been out using cocaine. As he sleeps, Valentina goes to take his duffel bag full of dirty clothes to the wash, and she is pleasantry surprised to see a little plastic baggie full of "detergent" (cocaine) is already in there. She puts it into the washing machine, causing Remi to panic when he wakes up and realizes what's occurred. Confused by his extreme reaction, Valentina wonders what's wrong, and Remi admits that the baggie was in fact full of cocaine which he's been using to deal with his stress over his lost money and the fact that he's failing all of his classes. He makes Valentina promise to keep this a secret, for he assures that he's done using now, but later Zoila finds her daughter crying in Remi's room. She assumes that something's wrong with Remi, and it doesn't take her long to get her daughter to admit that the boy she loves is on drugs. Zoila explains that this happened before, about seven years ago, and proceeds to stage an intervention. She tells Remi how he always had to look after his mother when it should have been the other way around, which is why she thinks he gets so stressed, because he has no one he can depend upon. He knows what's going on and tries telling the maid that she can't tell him what to do, which she agrees with - hence she has invited the only person who can: Remi's father Philippe, who insists that his son return to rehab. ("Taking a Message")
Upon Remi's return home, he and Valentina officially become a couple. ("Hanging the Drapes")
Valentina is worried that Remi might be mad at her as she, Zoila and Genevieve prepare to welcome him home from rehab. Zoila tells her daughter that if he's mad at her for doing the right thing then he's too stupid to love; luckily, when Remi returns along with his father Philippe, he approaches Valentina and he thanks her for saving his life, then kissing her. Later, he approaches Zoila and asks for her permission to date her daughter, but Zoila says that the real person whose permission he needs is Valentina's father, Pablo. Remi proceeds to attend a dinner at his new girlfriend's house, though she is thrown off when it becomes apparent that he didn't know her surname was Diaz. This leads to her yelling at him during the meal, pointing out that she knows every little thing about him while he knows so little about her; she storms off to her bedroom and, after Remi leaves, Zoila approaches her. Valentina reveals she doesn't want to just be seen as the maid, so Zoila suggests she quit. Later, Remi and Valentina attend a party at the Stappords where Marisol Duarte has meanwhile learned he used to buy drugs from her son. He is present when Olivia Rice attemps suicide, and hels cut her noose down. ("Hanging the Drapes")
Remi confronts his father for a secret he tried so hard to keep hidden. ("Cleaning Out the Closet")
Marisol Duarte meets with lawyer Ida Hayes, now believing Remi to have killed Flora Hernandez, but just needs proof that he knew Flora was pregnant before she died so that they can go to the D.A. with a clear motive. In order to get what she needs, Marisol decides to stage a little meeting; she has Remi show up at the Stappord house at the same time as Ida, who accuses him of Flora's murder after revealing that he was the father of her unborn child. Michael advises his client not to say anything and Marisol proceeds to "kick" Ida out. Remi goes on to meet with Ida because he suspects that his lawyer isn't telling him the whole truth. Ida agrees, believing him when he says that he didn't kill Flora, and proceeds to present him with all the evidence that's been gathered. He insists that he met Flora at a party and the two of them only hooked up a couple of times; he knows nothing else, though, knowing that her attacker is connected to him, he leaves Ida's office with a clear idea in mind. Returning home though, his parents announce that they're getting remarried, to his disgust. After Philippe makes a rude comment about Valentina, he punches him in the face and then whispers something in his ear. ("Cleaning Out the Closet")
Zoila convinces Remi to go to Africa alone. ("Getting Out the Blood")
Remi knows that Philippe raped Flora and thinks that he might have killed her too, but Philippe assures him otherwise, convincing him that her death was a mere coincidence. When Remi asks him about the rape, Philippe explains that Flora was a whore... and whores can't say "no". This whole ordeal makes Remi want to do something better with his life, and so he applies to be a part of a program that helps sick people in Africa, having a year of pre-med. He tells Valentina and asks her to come with him; she accepts and proceeds to tell her mother. Zoila forbids her daughter from leaving her hopes and dreams behind while she chases after a boy, but Valentina isn't asking her permission, merely telling her what her decision is. Unable to allow this, Zoila goes to Remi and convinces him to copy out a note she wrote for Valentina explaining why he left for Africa without her and why he had to go without saying goodbye. Remi fears that, if he does this, Valentina will hate him, but Zoila points out that Valentina will learn the truth eventually and then she'll be the one that she hates. ("Getting Out the Blood")
After Remi is gone, Zoila gives two hand-written notes, one for Valentina and one for Genevieve, where it explains he is off to Africa. Valentina is depressed to see he has gone without her, and eventually Zoila realizes she can't keep the truth from her daughter any longer, and so she confesses to having made Remi do so. Valentina is absolutely disgusted, and forces her mother away, then proceeds to buy her own plane ticket to join Remi. ("Totally Clean")
Valentina doesn't want to talk to Remi, as they've recently separated. ("An Ideal Husband")
After spending three months together in Africa, Remi and Valentina ultimately breakup and Valentina returns home. Remi sends Genevieve a letter, telling her what happened. Later, Valentina sits in her car alone when she gets a video call on her phone -- it's Remi. She answers it and appearing on the screen is Remi with longer hair and a bushy beard. He tells Valentina that he just talked with his mother and heard what happened between Valentina and Zoila. Valentina tells him that this wouldn't have happened if Remi hadn't told anyone she was back. Remi apologizes, but tells her that he was worried. Valentina tells him that she can't talk at the moment because she has a job interview. Remi tries to stop her from hanging up, but Valentina says that she really does have to go and hangs up. ("An Ideal Husband")
Still in the Congo, Remi has fallen ill. ("Dangerous Liaisons")
Valentina video chats with Remi, and tries to tell him about her parents splitting up. Remi tells her he can’t talk. Ethan over hears and says that Remi is insensitive and offers to talk to her about her parents, Valentina doesn’t want his pity. Valentina tries to video call Remi, but a girl named Heather answers. She slams her computer shut. The next day, Valentina asks Ethan to hang out with her this weekend. She says Remi made a new friends, so she thinks it is time for her to make a new friends too. Meanwhile in the Congo, Heather is sitting by Remi’s bed, and he is unconscious and running a fever. She reveals to the doctor that the antibiotics aren’t working. ("Dangerous Liaisons") Genevieve receives a phone call from the Congo, she learns that Remi has come down with a virus and isn’t responding to treatment-they are sending him home on a plane. ("Crimes of the Heart")
Unbeknownst to Remi, Valentina has moved on to another man. ("The Bad Seed")
Genevieve barges into the Powell house and informs Valentina she has to come to her house to see Remi. Valentina is shocked, she had no idea he was sick, or back from the Congo. Later, Valentina sees Remi and the first thing he does is apologize about Africa. He announces he wants them to get back together and “start all over.” Valentina pays Zoila a visit and tells her she needs advice and “apologizes for being such a brat.” She reveals that she loves Remi, but he broke his heart. She cares about Ethan too, but at the end of the day he can hurt her too. Zoila informs her she is not telling her what to do, and she needs to make this decision herself. Later, Valentina pays Remi a visit and confesses to him that she is seeing Ethan, he understands and tells her that she “deserves the best.” Later, Remi gets out of bed and heads downstairs to Zoila and Genevieve. He begs Zoila to talk to Valentina and convince her to give him another chance, but Zoila informs him she doesn’t meddle anymore and there is nothing she can do. After Zoila leaves Genevieve promises Remi that she will get Valentina back for him. ("The Bad Seed")
Remi confides in Genevieve that Valentina deserves better than Ethan. ("Private Lives")
Genevieve is busy trying to get Valentina and Remi back together. Genevieve tells Remi that she will fix everything. Remi asks why she would do this for him. Genevieve states that she is not doing it for him, she is doing it for Valentina. The only thing standing in her way was Ethan. Luckily the problem was quickly fixed. Once Genevieve found out that he had been wait-listed to a school on the east coast, Ethan has been accepted into Brown. After her chat with Genevieve, Valentina was happy to put the whole episode behind her while Ethan elected to let Remi have a piece of his mind. Remi didn’t have anything to do with his mom arranging for Ethan to be sent away, but that doesn’t seem to matter to Ethan. He doesn’t exactly appreciate being nearly bought off. So, Ethan says to Remi that he got what he wants and no one is going to make him give her up. Prior to their little scene, Remi was actually considering letting Valentina go, but now he changed his mind. After his confrontation with Ethan, Remi tells his mother that the poolboy is a jerk and that Valentina deserves better. ("Private Lives")
Zoila gives Remi some advice on how to win back Valentina. ("Betrayal")
As Valentina exits the Powell's home to go to the grocery store, Remi arrives with flowers. He tells her he does that as a friend and adds he met Ethan, who does not seem to be a good guy. Valentina is offended and goes back into the house, telling him to do not come back there unannounced. Later, Remi goes and sees Zoila and tells her that she got a "weird vibe" from him. Zoila reminds him that she promised Valentina she wouldn't meddle in her life. However, she looks around to see if her daughter is there. Knowing that she isn't, she tells Remi he needs to remind Valentina what is "right about himself" not what is wrong with Ethan. Later, Remi pays Valentina a visit and surprises her with a gift, a framed photo of a sunrise that they shared together. Remi confesses that he could tell that day was the "only moment she was ever truly happy." She informs him that none if this matters because she is with Ethan now. He asks her to keep the photo as a reminder of what they had. ("Betrayal")
Remi takes part in an awkward family dinner. ("The Visit")
Genevieve is on a hunt for a kidney, unfortunately Remi isn’t a match. Zoila says she should get tested too, but Genevieve replies she knows how much Tequila Zoila put away on the weekends, and she prefers to does not want an abused kidney. Remi thinks they should contact their cousins from Oklahoma, but Genevieve refuses because she hates them and she does not want doesn’t want anything to do with them. Then, Remi suggest to call Henri but his mother says no and makes him promise not to call them. After Genevieve left the room, Zoila asks Henri's number to Remi, because if Remi promises to does not call him, Zoila did not promise something. Henri ends up telling Genevieve's mother, Velma about the situation. Velma rushes to her daughter's house immediately. That night, Remi, Velma, Genevieve, and Zoila sit down for an awkward dinner. Velma reveals that Genevieve is a phony and her real name is Eunice Mudge, something that Remi didn't even know. Velma then takes her false teeth out to get corn out of them. Remi is disgusted and asks his grandmother to put her teeth back in. A disgusted Genevieve storms out and orders Zoila to get rid of her mom. ("The Visit")
An ungrateful Ethan is stitched up by Remi. ("Long Day's Journey Into Night")
After Valentina and Ethan arrived at Zoila's house, they hear a car in the alley. Valentina tells Ethan he passed out on their way over there, so she called someone. Ethan is shocked and asks who she called. At this moment, Remi enters in the house; Ethan does not look happy to see him. Remi is next seen stitching Ethan's wound. The latter teases Remi, asking him if he missed the class on stitches. Remi replies by saying what he meant to say was "thank you for saving my life". Ethan thanks him reluctantly, but Remi adds he did not do it for him. Then, Valentina says to Ethan he should go lay down in her room. Once Ethan left the room, Remi tells Valentina he thinks Ethan lied about the knife fight, and Valentina agrees with him. The next day, Remi reads in the newspaper that one of the burglars at Spence’s house was stabbed in the side. He rushes over to Valentina’s and shows her the article. He tells her that they are both going to be accomplices and go to jail for helping Ethan. Remi tells Valentina they need to ask the truth to Ethan, but the young girl says he is sleeping. Remi adds if Ethan does not tell the truth, it means he does not really love her and then she cans stop protecting him. Valentina says it is gonna end badly for Ethan, and Remi replies she needs to do the right thing or it will end badly for her too. ("Long Day's Journey Into Night")
Remi and Valentina finally get back together. ("You Can't Take It With You")
Zoila and Pablo arrive at the police station and find Remi - who called Pablo - in the waiting room. Remi tells them Valentina is being questioned, and the cops refuse to let him see her. Remi adds Valentina called him, because she did not want to call them, but he did it because he did not know what else to do. Pablo tells him he did the right thing, then Zoila asks Remi if he knows what happened. Remi is hesitating, and says they should ask Valentina herself. Then, Zoila and Pablo go in the room where they see their daughter, while Remi leaves the police station. That night, Valentina arrives on Remi's doorstep and reveals that she is headed to tell the police about Ethan, and she won't throw him under the bus and tell the cops that Remi stitched him up. Remi says he does not care about that, because the most important thing to him is that Valentina is okay. She thanks him for not breaking his promise and turning Ethan in. She kisses him and Remi asks if they are getting back together. Valentina tells him not to ruin the moment. ("You Can't Take It With You")
Genevieve learns they've found a kidney donor. ("Proof")
Remi is at dinner with Valentina. He receives a phone call and answers it. After a moment, he asks the person to give him ten minutes because he will be right over. He hangs up and Valentina asks him if it was the hospital. Remi confirms it and says some of the people that promised Genevieve they would get tested for their kidney did not show up. He adds he has to go see what is going on. Valentina tells him to do what he needs to, and Remi smiles at her and takes her hand. He tells Valentina it really helps a lot knowing she is here for him. Valentina smiles and says she's glad. Remi kisses her and tells her to call him later. He then leaves the restaurant. Later, Remi is preparing a snack in his kitchen. At his moment, he receives a phone call from Dr. Kimball. The doctor asks him if he can talk to his mother but, Remi tells him Genevieve is actually resting right now. He then asks what happened. Soon after, an excited Remi wakes up his mother and Genevieve asks him if something is wrong. Remi says no and adds Dr. Kimball is on the phone, he has amazing news. Genevieve takes the phone and the doctor tells her they found a donor. Genevieve and Remi are both excited. Genevieve asks him who the donor is, and the doctor tells him it is the husband of her maid - Pablo. ("Proof")
Remi takes cover during the mass shooting. ("Look Back in Anger")
Genevieve reveals to Remi that Pablo changed his mind and is not going to donate his kidney to her since Zoila refuses to take him back. The mother and son become increasingly worried about the former's condition since she continues getting worse. Later, Valentina goes to see Remi and tells him about the internship that Adrian helped her get. She asks Remi to come to New York with her, but Remi refuses to leave because Genevieve is too sick and Pablo refuses to give his kidney. Remi asks Valentina to have her father reconsider giving up his kidney, but she says she won't because it is his decision. A disappointed Valentina asks if Remi will still pick her up for Rosie's wedding tomorrow; Remi asks why they can't ever catch a break. The next day, Remi goes to Spence and Rosie's wedding with Valentina. While Valentina talks with Zoila, she says that Remi saved some seats for them. After Valentina walks away, Zoila receives a shocking phone call from Dr. Kimball, who announces that she is pregnant. After Rosie and Spence are married, Remi and the others guests go out of the church, and they watch as Rosie and Spence walk down the steps. Everyone's happiness is cut short, however, as Ty arrives and starts shooting at everyone. Rosie drops her blood covered bouquet, leaving it unknown who was shot. ("Look Back in Anger")
Remi fails as the protective boyfriend. ("Awakenings")
As an unstable Ty attempts to get rid of Valentina via a drive-by shooting outside Rosie's wedding, he unintentionally hits Pablo instead, to his daughter's dismay, and the wound proves fatal. Four months later, Valentina returns from visiting her father's grave to find Remi waiting in her house with a present. She is excited at first, until she learns that it's pepper spray to ward off bad guys. He reveals how worried he's been about her safety ever since the shooting happened but Valentina is less than impressed, pointing out that Ty was arrested and proceeding to go for a jog... only to have her boyfriend follow her. As a result she uses his own pepper spray against him, thinking him to be someone dangerous, and is shocked once she realizes the truth. She wonders why he would follow her and he claims to want to keep an eye out for her, leading her to threaten that she will break up with him if this brand of "protection" continues. Back at her house she tends to his sore eyes as he tells her that he's glad she used the pepper spray, for he now knows she's apt at taking out potential bad guys, and she wonders why he's been so protective lately. He points out that, when the gunshots started on the day of the wedding, he ducked - he could have protected her but he was more concerned with protecting himself. She is okay with this however, because that wedding was the worst day of her life: she lost her father, and she would be utterly destroyed if she had lost Remi as well. Therefore, she's glad he made himself safe. The two of them make up and continue their steady relationship. ("Awakenings")
Remi proposes to Valentina. ("From Here to Eternity")
After a leg is found in the garden of the Powell residence, Remi comments on the creepiness of this before announcing to his girlfriend that he's been accepted into medical school in New York, and he wants her to reapply for her internship with Bruno de Luca and come with him... as his wife. Valentina is ecstatic, as is Genevieve for her future daughter-in-law, but Zoila takes the news less pleasantly, thinking Val to be far too young to get married. Valentina points out that if she marries Remi then they'll finally be able to make love, for Zoila always told her premarital sex is a sin, but her mother is just shocked that she actually listened, continuing to forbid this wedding. The next day, however, Zoila announces her own engagement to Javier, as well as the fact that she's pregnant. This deeply upsets Valentina, who refuses to bless the union on the grounds that this is not what her late father would have wanted at all; Remi points out that he wouldn't want she and her mother to fight either, and that he thought Val liked Javier. She confirms that she does, and so Remi wonders what her problem is, leading her to realize that the reason she's upset is because her mother is starting a new family without her. Zoila feels the exact same way about Valentina, and the two of them are able to make amends and bless one another's unions. Val tells Remi that they don't need to get married right away... but maybe they don't have to wait for everything. With this in mind, the two of them make passionate love for the very first time, before Valentina quits her job as the Powells' maid. ("From Here to Eternity")
Zoila and Javier decide to elope and ask Genevieve to be their witness, since Valentina and Remi are already settled in New York. Genevieve insists that they have a big wedding; however, the relationship eventually falls through due to Zoila's baby in fact being Pablo's. ("The Awful Truth") Later, Genevieve goes to visit Valentina and Remi in New York for a little while. ("Whiplash") When Zoila goes into labor, Genevieve has trouble getting in touch with Remi and Valentina, but tells the latter via a voice message that her little sister is on the way; however, there is a complication and Genevieve is left to decide for the doctors who should be prioritized in the pending surgery - Zoila or her baby. ("Anatomy of a Murder")
Genevieve chooses to prioritize Zoila, thus resulting in the loss of her unborn daughter. After this, Zoila goes up to New York to spend some time with Valentina and Remi. ("Once More Unto the Bleach")
