Life and Career
Takara was born the youngest of 2 in Washington, DC. She never had an interest in politics so she spent the majority of her adolescence a student athlete, with quixotic dreams of being an Olympic gymnast and lawyer.
Takara got her first taste of the stage as "Orchid" in her school's production of Rose Petal's Place at the age of 7. However, the idea of being an actor was not in her sights. In fact, she was shy and dreaded being in front of audiences and her "gripping performance" did not change her disposition.
It wasn't until she performed a short skit in her high school social studies class where she realized she was on to something. Immediately after that class, the instructor encouraged Takara to register for her Drama class the next semester. She spent the remainder of her time in high school exploring the arts and discovered she had a knack for the performing arts.
Spending less than a year in the work force, after graduating college, Takara decided she would move to Atlanta, GA to try to make it as an actress. Since her move she has been blazing a trail through Atlanta's arts community in Film, Television, and Theatre. Most recently, the City of Atlanta awarded Takara the Emerging Artist Award in Media Arts.
In addition to acting, Takara is hard at work developing her production company and producing a web series she wrote. In 2014, she has been cast on Devious Maids.
